Welcome to the 2024 Veradigm Tobacco Road Marathon and VHB Half Marathon to be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in Cary, North Carolina. The Full Marathon and the Half Marathon will be held simultaneously on the same day starting at 7:00am and run mostly on the American Tobacco Trail.
A few notes. These are important! Please don't just skip by them....
We have a NO REFUND policy if you are not able to run for any reason. DO NOT sign up if you are not willing to accept this. (This policy is common with most other races.)
Deferrals are NOT PERMITTED after January 31, 2024. No exceptions! Put a note on your calendar NOW for mid-January, 2024, to reminder yourself of this deadline. Before the deadline, there will be a small fee to defer which represents our costs associated with your deferral.
T-shirts are NOT GUARANTEED for registrations after January 31, 2024. We will order some extras, so immediately AFTER your race, you can select from whatever sizes are still available.
Transfers to another runner may be permitted after Janaury 31, 2024, but are not guaranteed.
Distance changes (Full to Half or Half to Full) may not be permitted if the desired distance is sold out.
Parking Passes for 2024 will likely sell out by the end of June 2023...and are available ONLY as part of a race registration. They are not available for purchases separately.
Please know that how you enter your name will be how it is shown in the results published after the race. (For instance, you may want to take time to capitalize the first letters.)
We typically offer discounts to various running groups. If you are part of a running group, talk to them to see if they have a discount.
We encourage athletes of all abilities to participate in our race. However, because of the limitations imposed by the course, particularly the five miles on the road, we have two special notes to ensure runner safety:
1) We have a strict course closure of 2:00pm so that runners are not on the roads without police coverage and coned lane closures.
2) Because of the unpaved surfaces, two-way traffic on the trail, and no usable shoulder on parts of the road sections, this course is not particularly good for athletes with disabilities due to safety reasons. If you are a disabled athlete, please contact email@example.com at least two months prior to the race date to discuss potential accommodations.
When you register, we also request that you a PERSONAL email, not a WORK email address. We have had many problems with people changing jobs between when they register and the race, and those runners then stop receiving important information. Also, please try to avoid registering multiple runners using the SAME email address. It is possible to register multiple people under one email address, but it works out far better for communications for each runner to register with their own email address.
